E A Gleeson has been described as Australia's Thomas Lynch. Passionate poet and essayist, speaker and Funeral Director, Anne lives in the Hepburn where she works, writes and wanders.
Anne spent her childhood on her family's Soldier Settlement farm at Camperdown in Victoria's Western District.Since then she has moved often, worked in diverse occupations and travelled the world.
She is a multi-award winning poet, with her most recent award being a "Commended" in the 2012 Hippocrates Poetry Prize for Poetry and Medicine. Her collections feature poems that spark with wonder whether she is writing of discoveries, the people who have not been included in official history or the surprises in the landscapes and the lives of those she loves. Others resonate with a deep humanity as they explore ideas of loss and love and hone in on that place deep within us where beauty and the heart intersect.
