Finley St. George

"Within Earshot of Freedom's Ring," written by Gene Boyle under the pen name Finley St. George, is, above all, a statement of faith. Faith in God, faith in our country and faith in the vision of our Founding Fathers. It is a wake-up call for all Americans.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the author was born and raised, provided a perfect backdrop for the creation of this book. It chronicles the author's early life growing, developing and working within the framework of freedom so brilliantly crafted by our nation's founders.

Our freedoms, gifts from God, guaranteed by our Constitution and Bill of Rights, are being attacked and are eroding away as a result of overreaching and burdensome regulation and taxation. These exacting practices are stifling our entrepreneurial spirit and business enterprise. Further, the purposeful boundaries set by our Founding Fathers between the three branches of our government -- Judicial, Legislative and Executive -- are being blatantly blurred!

I believe our country is being weakened by these socialistic tendencies. Weak leadership reduces confidence in our nation and can create an international power vacuum making us vulnerable to falling into a spiral of deeper socialism, or worse, loss of our country.

In these hard economic times, the federal regulatory business is booming. Indeed, this is a direct result of an administration's approach to job creation: taxation to fund government expansion.

Therefore, I have endeavored to set forth in this book a clear recognition of the gifts God has granted us and the freedom to exercise and enjoy those gifts.

Thus, to serve as a reminder of the promise of America, I start the book and each chapter with key portions of our country's founding documents.
