Danita Cahill

Danita Cahill is a best-selling, award-winning writer and photojournalist. At age 14 she sold her flute and bought a word processer because she was destined to write. Her hometown newspaper published several pieces of her writing that same year. Since then Danita has written and published over 2,100 newspaper articles and columns for 11 different newspapers, and several dozen magazine stories and countless photographs for six different magazines. She's had five stories and a photograph published in two anthologies by Health Communications Inc. Books - the same folks who publish the Chicken Soup for the Soul books - and she's published many other titles - both fiction and non fiction.

Danita lives in the Pacific NW on a small Oregon farm with her husband, two sons, and their animals - a horse, several cats two dogs and a herd of alpacas. Besides running children to and fro and caring for her gardens, critters and family, Danita stays busy working on magazine assignments, selling antiques, eating dark chocolate and dreaming up love stories for her next books.

A member of the Central Oregon Writers Guild, the Willamette Writers Guild, and several online writing, self-publishing and critique groups, Danita grew up at the Oregon coast.

She's had several interesting occupations - both paid and volunteer - including covering the crime beat for a daily newspaper, working as a crab shaker at a fish plant, doing armed security and wilderness search and rescue on horseback with the Linn County Sheriff's Mounted Posse, owning and operating a retail plant nursery business, and working as an artist for a porcelain/ceramics business.
