Carl Peter Watts

I completed my doctoral thesis on Rhodesia's UDI at the University of Birmingham (UK), where I taught modern history and war studies. I am currently a Professor of National Security Studies at the US Air Force Global College of Professional Military Education. I am the author of Rhodesia’s Unilateral Declaration of Independence: An International History (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012). I am currently co-editing a book with Hugh Pattenden (University of Southampton) and Sue Onslow (King’s College, London): Rhodesia’s Unilateral Declaration of Independence: National, Regional, International and Transnational Perspectives (Bloomsbury Publishing, forthcoming 2025).
