Michael S. Downey, D.P.M. is Chief of the Division of Podiatric Surgery and Medicine at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a Clinical Professor and Past Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Downey is a Senior Faculty Member of The Podiatry Institute. He is the Section Editor for Hindfoot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, an Editorial Advisor for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, an Expert Analyst for Foot & Ankle Quarterly, and an Editorial Advisor for Podiatry Today. Dr. Downey is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He is co-editor of the second, third, and fourth (newest edition published in 2012) editions of McGlamry’s Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and has written over 85 book chapters, journal articles, and papers. Dr. Downey has been recognized three times in the “Top Docs” issue of Philadelphia Magazine. Dr. Downey treats all foot and ankle problems and is in private practice in Philadelphia, Radnor, and Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
