Tim Bartlett

I have been a school governor for most of my working life in education - firstly of my local village primary school, then as a secondary Headteacher for 17 years, and now in a very large urban primary school, which has its own nursery. I enjoy visiting the school, spending time with the children and the staff who work very hard - and are a delight to be with. I have learnt a lot from fellow governors. Mostly, they are parents of children at the school and they always ask questions I wish I had asked!

I work as a school improvement partner: advising headteachers, training staff. For example, in May 2013, I ran a seminar for school business managers on how to increase income from community use of the facilities. I am preparing a course for a Special School for Learning Support Assistants. My latest role is as Director of a new Multi-Academy Trust.

I enjoy writing resources for schools, drawing on my enthusiasm and hard-won experience.
