John Francis Kinsella

John (Francis) Kinsella was born in London in 1940 soon after his parents left Ireland for a new life in England. He grew up in London and started his career with a West End firm that launched him on a life long Odyssey across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Since 1972 his home has been in France and today he lives between Paris and the Basque Country where he does most of his writing. His first book, 'Borneo Pulp', a story of the destruction of the Indonesian rainforest, was first published in 1991, and has since been followed by seven other novels. He builds his themes around the many strange and unusual experiences that have marked him during his travels in Ireland, France, Indonesia, Russia, the USA and the Caribbean. His latest novel, 'The Turning Point', takes place as the financial crisis breaks in 2007-2008. It is has also been translated into French under the title 'Le Point de Non Retour'.
