A native of South Carolina, Cheryl Rivers is an enthusiastic teacher, singer, and one of the ministers of music at Word in Life Outreach Ministries in Summerville, SC. Since childhood, writing has always been a part of her life. Her writing career began in earnest in 2000 while working at the John Rivers Communications Museum in Charleston, SC. As part of the museum’s celebration of Black History Month, she presented a program and wrote a booklet honoring the pioneering actresses Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, and Eartha Kitt. Since then, she has kept busy composing her own songs, music, and inspirational poetry. In 2006, her first book, entitled Words from My Heart: A Collection of Inspirational Poems, was published. Her second title, For the Love of Ministry, was published in 2012. Today, Cheryl continues to write, and will be releasing several new titles in the near future.
