Kurt Fredrickson is Associate Dean for Doctor of Ministry and Continuing Education, and theological mentor of the Doctor of Ministry program and assistant professor of pastoral ministry. He oversees Fuller’s Doctor of Ministry program and the Lowell Berry Center for Lifelong Learning/
Prior to coming to Fuller in September 2003, Fredrickson was on the pastoral staff of Simi Covenant Church in Simi Valley, California, for 24 years, 18 of which he served as senior pastor. He is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church.
“The church is involved in the risky mission of being sent into the world—so it needs a new tribe of leaders who are being equipped to engage the world in new ways. My passion is to help churches missionally engage with the culture, extending blessing and good news—and to offer church leaders a new sense of hope, fostering new imaginations as they navigate through societal shifts.”
Fredrickson continues to be a member of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise. He serves as a supervising chaplain with the Simi Valley Police Department and as a member of the City of Simi Valley's Homelessness Task Force. He is on the Board of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley. In 2012, he was named City Volunteer of the Year by the Simi Valley City Council.
He is a graduate of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, and Fuller Seminary where he earned Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
He is married to his wife Kristi. They live in Simi Valley, and have two married children.
