David McGukin

After forty years of designing homes, gardens, theatrical productions, and everything in between, painter, sculptor, and classically trained opera singer, David McGukin retired and started a new adventure utilizing his life long love of story telling. The West Georgia native's Southern roots and professional background shine in his debut novel, Trove.

Formally educated at Lipscomb University, University of West Georgia, and Florida State University, David considers his real education in storytelling to have come from youth through his extended family. Fortunate enough to have been born into a clan who still cherished the idea of spinning yarns, David has heard these treasured tales since his birth in West Georgia. Characters and situations inspired by people and places from these stories saturate his work with sights, sounds, and happenings brought from real life experiences.

Now retired from a very public life, David McGukin lives once again in West Georgia near family. Blessed with two daughters, their husbands and four grandchildren, David, his wife, Ardoth and his parents still enjoy the old family tradition of passing tales through the generations.
