Gary A. McAbee Gary was born and raised in the inner-city neighborhood of Greenville in Jersey City, NJ. During his formative years, he witnessed the struggles of many who were caught in the cycle of violence, broken homes, and a lack of education. However, his surroundings did not limit his determination to succeed. Gary refused to be another statistic and vowed to make something of his life and have a positive impact on society. In order to accomplish this goal, Gary left Jersey City for the steel city of Pittsburgh, PA to attend Duquesne University.
After earning a Master's Degree from Duquesne University, Gary would vacillate between pursuing his dream to be an independent motivational speaker and entrepreneur, and pursuing progress up the "corporate ladder." He chose to teach on the secondary and college level, which allowed him to have a tremendous impact by instilling in students his brand of motivational techniques and the importance of education.
Gary created Motivation for the World as a platform for his motivational speaking, writing, and mentoring efforts. In 2010, Gary completed his first book, Wake Up! 42 Ways to Improve Black America Now! The anxiously anticipated follow-up, Rise Up! 42 Additional Ways to Improve Black America Now,was released in 2012. His third book, Defining Success: One Word At a Time, was released in 2017.
