John Thayer

John Thayer has always loved to write but could never think of much to write about. When his son Jared was born he found his topic. John would tell Jared a bedtime story each night, making up stories, each one having a boy named Jared as the main character at Jared's request. Some of the stories were short and sweet, and others would cause Jared's mom to come in and ask what was taking so long to put him to bed.

One day in 2009 John decided he wanted to write Jared a story that he could always have as a reminder of their special time together. Three months after he started it, the first draft of a 200 page book was done. Two more edits came after that and finally, on his 10th birthday, Jared was presented with Jared's Island, a book written just for him.
