I came up with this idea when I was 7 on a hiking trip with my Dad and my older brother. My Dad was, I believe, telling us the story of Hansel and Gretel. After his story, I started to tell the story of 'The Pirate Bride' and just followed the story from the title. 2 years went by that we didn't do anything with the story until is was 9 turning 10. My Dad found an artist who does amazing artwork, and hired him to do the illustrations. His name is Jerry Bennett. So at my school, my brother and I would sit in the Library and do our homework while my Dad had his laptop with him to type out the story. When my Dad was curious about how a character should react or what a character should say, he would ask me and I would get help from him on my homework. Plus, my brother and I would sometimes forget homework in our locker, and the school was right next to the Library, so that was helpful for us. In the Summer of 2009 when I was 10, we finally had a published book in our hands delivered from the publishing company. My Dad and I had been on different websites and News channels at least a month or so after it was published. I felt pretty camera shy about it, but I started to get used to it. The Pirate Bride is about a 13 year old girl, who while she is on vacation is kidnapped by pirates. This book is appropriate for all ages, and is a fun book to read.
