Ben Coombs is an automotive adventurer and travel writer who is always on the lookout for new and innovative ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of offbeat travel.
Ben has been exploring the globe in unlikely steeds for over a decade now, and his vehicle-based expeditions have so far covered around 90,000 miles in 80 different countries, with particular highlights being coaxing a Porsche across Africa, crossing Asia in a Chevrolet Corvette and driving from the northernmost pub on the planet, to the southernmost, in a TVR Chimaera. His travels have been featured in a wide variety of publications, from The Daily Telegraph to Octane Magazine, while his first book - Survival of the Quickest, which describes the African Porsche Expedition, was published in 2012.
Survival of the Quickest forms the first part of Ben's 'Road Trip Trilogy' of travelogues. The trilogy also includes The Road to the East, which chronicles his V8-powered drive from England to Singapore, and Pub2Pub, which tells the story of his 27,000 mile, pub-based road trip across Europe and the Americas.
