Trypheyna McShane

Trypheyna McShane who was born in London, England, to British parents, grew up in Ghana, West Africa, and went to boarding schools in Denmark and England.

She lived in and around the West Indies for a year, on a trimaran, built by her father. This occured because her family was deported from Ghana, after her lawyer father took cases against a corrupt government, and was then thrown into Ussher Fort, an old slave jail.

She and her family arrived in Sydney making Australia their home. Not long after arriving, working as a silversmith, Trypheyna, now an internationally known artist, lost all her tools and belongings in a bush fire on the outskirts of Sydney.

Her first book, "The Intimacy of Death & Dying," was written as a result of her journey with her sister-in-law Trish whose wedding was held 36 hours before she died of cancer. Trypheyna & her business partner Linda Krick run We Wise Women www.wewisewomen.com which is publishing 'The Intimacy of Living' series for women at midlife and beyond.
