Hello, Welcome to my Author page! I am Dr. Sonia Sharma (previously Sonia Taneja).

I have been teaching Hindi as a University Lecturer/Professor in the US since 2004. Over the last 20 years, I have taught Hindi at Stanford, Columbia, UC Berkeley and the Defense Language Institute. My students have been Americans & Indian-Americans of various cultures & heritages. I have taught at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

I am grateful to have won several awards for my work in the field of Hindi & be invited for interviews on radio, TV, webinar, and newspaper. I have also had the opportunity to design the first ever Hindi teacher certification exam in California and Hindi regents city exam in New York & work on Hindi localization projects for Apple iPhone, Siri and iTunes.

Recently, I my doctoral dissertation was based on adult Hindi learners in America. Implementing this knowledge, I offer interactive & engaging Hindi classes. Feel free to reach out at drsonia108atgmail.com
