Joe Famularo is a lifelong New Yorker who - in addition to having been a senior vice president for McGraw Hill publishers - is an Award winning author of ten books. His two best-selling cookbooks The Joy of Grilling and The Joy of Pasta each enjoyed 26 printings with combined sales of 525,000. Joe's other books include Italian Soup Cookbook (Workman), Celebrations (Barrons), Vegetables (Barrons), The Festive Famularo Kitchen (Atheneum), Healthy Grilling (Barrons), Healthy Pasta (Barrons), Supermeals For Supermarkets (Barrons), and Cook's Tour of Italy (Berkeley). Altogether, his book sales topped a whopping 950,000 copies.
In addition to writing for The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Bon Appetit, House and Garden, Gourmet, Coastal Living, and Grilling magazines, Joe is a long time contributor to Tastes of Italia writing more than 40 articles for the publication.
Joe was also the subject of numerous articles - Craig Claiborne wrote about Joe's childhood in the New York Times, Bon Appetit ran a photography essay about a New Year's Eve dinner at Joe's country home in Pawling, New York; Joe's grilled cooking was featured in Coastal Living; Jane Ellis, food editor for House Beautiful showcased Joe's Mirabelle Meringue Pie, and Richard Olney selected many of Joe's recipes for The Good Cook series published by Time-Life.
His work appeared on the covers of Bon Appetit and Tastes of Italia.
Joe is the recipient of two James Beard awards, an IACP award and the distinguished Maria Luigia-Duchessa de Parma, Italy award.
Joe has taught Italian cooking at a number of venues, and led more than 20 classes for the Silo cooking school in New Milford, Connecticut.
He currently divides his time between Key West, Florida and Pawling, New York.
