Naomi Stone

Stars in her eyes and a Swiss Army knife in her pocket... After growing up in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, Naomi Stone went East to college, then North to Alaska, back to the middle for a bit more education, then all around the US and Canada, hitch-hiking and even hopping a freight train before returning to her roots. These days she doesn't wander far, not with a cat whose midnight feedings and multiple breakfasts no cat-sitter would tolerate.

Her father, an artist, inspired her early interest in the arts and graphic design, her mother the lawyer urged her to become a lawyer. As a lifelong daydreamer and reader, there was no other choice but to become a writer, or maybe a picture book illustrator, or possibly the creator of a comic book. It took a long time before she buckled down to writing short stories, novellas and novels, but she still has notes and sketches for those picture books.

Naomi likes fun and finds it in many forms; sometimes she creates coloring pages or illustrations, sometimes plays her mandolin or recorders - and more often plays computer games. She's been involved in f/sf fandom for years and attends her local science fiction conventions where she participates in filk singing and board gaming with friends. She's also a serial craftsperson, engaging periodically in bouts of beading, crocheting or some random project inspired by Pinterest.

Stay tuned: Naomi is starting a new series this fall with "Holiday Enchantment: Thanksgiving."

The series was inspired in recognition of the many single women friends I've known who have made successful lives on their own, and deserve love and conviviality over the holidays, even without families to join.

In the Holiday Enchantment series, five single women form a holiday club so they won't have to spend the traditional family celebrations alone. A little fairy godmother magic will change each of their lives forever. All five heroines have known loss - and have gone on to choose paths that affirm life and friendship and caring.

'Thanksgiving,' the first of the series, is a tale based on the classic myth of Cupid & Psyche. Helen, two years widowed, decides to move on with her life and sends a letter of farewell to her late husband's email account. Then she gets a reply. The sender claims /she's/ the one who died. Helen's ready to risk everything to be reunited - crossing alternate dimensions, guided by fairy godmother magic and an enchanted GPS - but Jeff doesn't believe in miracles or magic and his doubts may leave her lost in a limbo between worlds.

The Team Guardian superhero romance series: 'Sweet Mercy,' 'Safe Haven,' and 'Shining Hope' have all been re-issued with brand new cover art and compiled in a single volume!

'Granted Wishes' collects all eight Fairy Godmother's Union short stories into a single volume!

'Wonder Guy' from the files of the Fairy Godmothers' Union. Greg Roberts has been in love with the girl next door since they were both twelve, but Gloria Torkinson is engaged to marry someone else. Greg can only respect her choice in the matter - until his fairy godmother pops in with a different idea.

'Spirited!' a Magical Romance. Amelia Swenson's plans for the weekend didn't include a sexy djinni or saving the world from demons, but plans change.

Here's what people say about Naomi Stone's work:

"I enjoyed the skillful blend of sleuthing, humor, romance, and action. Naomi Stone has a dazzling imagination, giving the Team Guardian members unique personalities, and creating villains with relatable motivations. I can’t wait for more adventures of Team Guardian." ~ Alice Dow-Thwaite

"This is a fast, fun read. The characters are engaging (unless they aren't supposed to be!~). The author raises issues worth thinking about. And best of all, for me, the story is well crafted and has some surprises you won't expect." ~ Hannah Allen Abbott

"Yes, there was some over the top, fantastical stunts, but the core of this book was about facing down your demons and finding your own moral compass. I started this book thinking it would be a quick, feel good read and ended up questioning and re-examining my own principles." ~ Musings and Ramblings

"The battle between good and evil is an exciting one where no one is safe in the heart-pounding journey to its HEA. It's a battle that invades both the human and otherworldly worlds in a mystery that keeps you guessing. The romance is subtle but satisfying" ~ J Falty
