For over twenty years, Cate Shepherd worked as a psychotherapist on the front lines with some of the most disturbed teens and families in L.A. An advocate for healthy system change, she developed many clinical training programs to bring more enlightened, contemporary approaches to the treatment of troubled youth.

Cate now enjoys a private practice in San Diego, California where she provides supervision and consultation for psychoanalysts and psychotherapists. She still loves working with families and couples, and specializes with LGBT families, artists, writers, and trauma survivors of different kinds.
