Russell Ware

The author is a multimedia artist, collector of American made cast iron cookware, and occasional baking demonstrator at the local Lodge Cast Iron Factory Store. He displayed his personal cast iron bakeware collection at the recently opened Lodge Museum of cast iron. He is skilled in restoring and re-seasoning all types of cast iron cookware. A dairy- and egg-free vegetarian cook, he is a strong believer in learning something new every day, resulting in six college degrees covering studies in a wide range of fields. During his studies for his seventh degree, he decided a thermometer is not what he wanted to be when he grew up, so he spent dozens of years working for many science oriented firms that could use his skills in government regulations, quality assurance and document handling. He was even the brewmaster for a microbrewery where he hand-crafted a dozen different styles of ale, 500 gallons at a time. If he is not in his kitchen at home, he is either writing another book, looking for more cast iron cookware, or discussing these items with anyone who will listen. He enjoys every aspect of publishing whether he is creating written content, photographing cast iron and food, or editing and writing code for his next project.

The author also finds it awkward to speak about himself in third person.
