Todd Loyd grew up in Nashville, TN, and loved every minute of a childhood filled with amusement parks and summer camps. His trips to Fair Park and Opryland always accompanied some level of trepidation over their "dark rides". In 1986 Todd was cast in the Film "Ernest Goes to Camp" as Chip Ozgood, and his life was changed forever. Rarely a week goes by, even to this day, that someone does not remind him that he was in that movie. In 1994 he graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications.
During those college years he spent the summer's doing internships for churches working with their teens. He worked with churches in Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky, all the while not realizing, he was laying the groundwork for a long-time career working with teenagers.
For the last 20 years Todd has worked as a student minister, working with a couple of congregations in Kentucky and Tennessee. One of his greatest blessings is the wide variety of skills he is able to utilize in his career. He spent many of those years fulfilling dreams like developing and directing camps, broadcasting sporting events, and writing.
In 1996 he was asked to join the board of directors of Impact, a large scale youth camp in Nashville. In 2000 he was awarded with the Agape "Commitment to Youth" award. He has also had the opportunity to speak all over the United States at youth events, retreats, and from small gatherings to large. Todd was asked to join the board of the National Conference on Youth Ministries in 2010 and he currently serves as President. He and his wife Amanda have been married since 2000, and they have three boys, the youngest of which has "Downs Syndrome." Todd and Amanda are very active in Special Needs charities like "Best Buddies of Middle Tennessee", and Athletes for Special Kids. Amanda received the honor of "Volunteer of the Year" in 2010, and Todd was nominated as "Champion of the Year" in 2012.
