Kent Johnson Olsen

Kent Johnson Olsen was born in Boise, Idaho, and grew up in Alaska and Utah. His family worked construction in Utah and Alaska. He graduated from Lathrop High School, Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1957. He spent 6 years in the US Navy, 16 years in the Army National Guard. Olsen attended BYU, Provo, Utah, graduating with a BA in Spanish 1969, MA education 1971. He retired from Utah Job Service in 1992 as a Veteran's counselor and advocate and volunteers at

at Gila County Emergency Communications, Globe, Arizona, as a ham radio operator.

He enjoys spending time with his family, history research, genealogy, target shooting, martial arts, military history, ham radio, and writing. His wife for 53 years, Kay, passed away December 2016; their six children, nine grandchildren, and one great granddaughter live in Utah and Arizona. Olsen says he writes because he would like his stories to give a break from reality and give his readers an adventure they can own.

Kari illustrated the book cover for "The Dragon Store Book 1: Liana Saves Huldi" and she did the illustration for "The Compass Cactus". An artist will do the coloring for the book covers.

"Toddler Bedtime Stories with Cassidy and Cindy Dog" is as an eBook. Co-author Cassidy Olsen is a fourth grader who keeps very busy with soccer, school high honor roll and friends.
