My name is John Michael Spores. I was born in Chicago Illinois and moved to the Chicago suburbs at the age of 11 years were I completed my education through high school, graduating from Hersey High School in 1975. I earned my Associate of Science Degree at William Rainey Harper Community College in 1977, then became a Psychology Major after 1st being pre-dental. I earned B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Psychology and Clinical Psychology at Illinois State University in 1979 and 1982, respectively. I published my 1st article with Glenn D. Reeder, Ph.D. entitled, "The Attribution of Morality," 1981, in the prestigious Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. I respected Glenn, who became a good friend. Thereafter, I worked several years at Omni Youth Services Bureau in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and with the assistance of my supervisor Jane Matthews, M.S.W., A.C.S.W., became a mature and confident Master's Level Psychologist. I then applied to doctoral schools in Clinical Psychology, was accepted at both The Ohio State University and Purdue University, the latter which guaranteed a Teaching Assistantship, which I accepted. Jerry Gruen, Ph.D. was my major professor, whom I also respected, and who predicted that I would not publish in large volume, although I would publish quality work. He was correct, as I published my main work to date, "Clinician's Guide to Psychological Assessment and Testing: With Forms and Templates for Effective Practice." This was the result of 15 years of intensive work in psychological testing with virtually all of the lifespan except infancy. I want readers to know that modifiable electronic copies of all the templates in the book are available at the Springer Publications website, which is the company that published my book. I am currently working on a child psychological testing book and I am hoping an editor at a publishing company will be interested in it. I am open to answering any questions from readers and potential readers of my book, and encourage readers and colleagues to contact me as needed. I am an Associate Professor of Psychology at Purdue University Northwest, jspores@pnw.edu. Thanks to Amazon for making this available.
