Norman Sandridge is an associate professor of Classics in the Department of Political Science at Howard University and a co-founder of Kallion Leadership, Inc. He has published works on leadership in the ancient world, including Loving Humanity, Learning, and Being Honored: The Foundations of Leadership in Xenophon’s Education of Cyrus. His latest book is Rise of the Benevolent Octopus: A Meditation on the Conditions and Practices of Leadership Development through the Study of the Humanities.
He has also published articles on the ancient Greek understanding of the emotions of pity and envy and on the pedagogy of the ancient Greek language. In his teaching he facilitates learning communities dedicated to leadership development through the study of the humanities both inside higher education and in businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Sandridge holds a bachelor's of science degree in Physics (minor in mathematics) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a master's degree in Latin from Florida State University, and a master's degree in ancient Greek and Ph.D. in Classics from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
