William C. Pirkle

Will Pirkle is the DSP Engineer for Moog Music, Inc. His DSP algorithms, C++ modules, and systems can be found in existing and upcoming products ranging from guitar/bass amp and FX modeling and cloning systems, to modular DSP synthesizer components in wide-ranging products on the Headrush, MPC, AmpCloner and ReValver platforms. His books are written from a DSP theory perspective which is what allows him to apply the same engineering principles to embedded systems and pure software alike - to him, they are all the same thing in the end. Thus Will eschews the notion that plugin framework programming is an end unto itself. For him, it is only a delivery system for the true treasure to be had - the DSP core nuggets. He frequently hears the expression "I listened to the wrong people" when it comes to audio programming and hopes his books can help bring the audio-DSP silver, gold, and platinum to everyone who wants to own it.
