J.D. Fitzgerald

Ever since he was a child, J.D. Fitzgerald always had a vivid imagination. Drawings on a notebook became ideas in written form. By the age of fifteen, he realized his passion. He wrote his first novel, Christine: The Strawberry Girl, which title was inspired by the 80's goth rock group Sixouse and the Banshees and he also wrote two short stories inspired by songs from singer-songwriters Tori Amos and P.J. Harvey.

Christine: The Strawberry Girl never came into fruition, but elements of the novel can be found in Manhattan Girls, his very first fully-developed written novel during his sophomore mid-year. Throughout the end of high school and further into adulthood, Manhattan Girls including four unpublished sequels went through plenty of revisions becoming the novel that is now. Not only he focus his time on novels but he produced two fully written screenplays that are currently outlined.

Being born and bred in the Triad of North Carolina, his other hobbies include researching film and television history, learning the basics of astrology, and practicing the graceful moves of interpretive dancing.

He is also an avid fan of late-night 80's soaps such as Knots Landing, in which he is studying the organic storytelling flow of the television series. He is also a fan of down-to-earth teen dramas such as My so-called Life and Felicity, which was inspired by Manhattan Girls.
