I became interested in writing around the time I took an English course in college. It was required, and I had no preconceived idea it would change my life, but that's what happened. My creative drive remained dormant however until I learned at the young age of fifty-nine that my whole life had been a lie, and I was adopted almost at birth. I began to write shortly after that unnerving revelation. My first attempt, THE COLOR OF DECEPTION, was used as therapy to help me live with the realization that, after dealing with life by myself, I now had six sisters and maybe one brother. The transition was traumatic. Writing a full length novel was easy by comparison. I have since completed seven more books, most of them mysteries. My latest,THE SECRET OF BRIGHTWOOD CASTLE, has been my most ambitious undertaking to date. It required much more research, as it spans three hundred years. In the writing i learned so much about our history and that of The British Empire, along with the Third Reich.

Writing is actually my fourth career choice. I began as a butcher's helper at the age of thirteen and continued in that profession until the tender age of seventeen, when I joined the Navy. Later I spent five years as a salesman, mostly door-to-door, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I returned to the military in the Coast Guard for four years before joining the Weather Bureau as an observer. With some college I graduated to weather forecaster in the reorganized National Weather Service, from which I retired in 1990.

I've been married to my wife Nonie, who is my editor, for over fifty years. We have four children. I have two kids from a previous marriage. Altogether we have eleven grandchildren and six great-grandkids.
