Stephanie Barrett

Stephanie Barrett realized at the ripe old age of eight that she wanted to become an author more than anything in the world. After college, Stephanie's love of children led her to teach preschool, where she drew constant inspiration for story ideas from the amazing children in her class.

The idea for A Dragon's Work Is Never Done, however, didn't come from one of Stephanie's preschool students. Instead, it came from a street food vendor selling sandwiches with mustard so spicy that it seemed entirely possible to turn into a full-fledged, fire-breathing dragon after taking a bite.

Stephanie lives with her husband, dog, and cat in central Florida.
