Katia Morcillo

The author Katia Morcillo, born in southern France, has lived a life that’s just as full and exciting as the characters she creates. The family Morcillo emigrated to Australia, where a 4-year-old Katia walked barefoot and felt free as a bird.

Three years later, the family returned to France. Life in Europe was very different. Katia now had to wear shoes and could no longer go out alone without an adult by her side. Instead of English, people now spoke French. Her grandparents told her stories in Catalan, French or Spanish.

After a colorful childhood, she went on to study literature. Her curiosity took her around the world, following her interest in different cultures and their value systems. Professionally, she has explored several wide-ranging endeavors, navigating all types of areas from digital, communication, and the organic products industry, to education, to name a few. She taught French at a Lycée in France, and foreign languages at various schools abroad. She has worked as a business coach for medium-sized companies in Germany, a translator, an interpreter, and a bookseller. She has also worked as a manager for the regions of France and Spain at a medium-sized company producing organic products, as well as a trainer of different software. Katia is also involved in various artistic and social projects.

Five years ago, Katia Morcillo decided to fully devote herself to working as a writer. She draws on her many travels to write her children’s stories.

First published in Germany by Lichtland Publishing, her books have received the best reviews from the trade press for their educational qualities. Now translated into several languages, they are sold all over the world as eBooks.
