Christopher Hall

Christopher James Hall didn’t plan to become an author.

He just hit fifty, realised life wasn’t turning out quite as advertised, and decided to start telling the truth about it — the funny bits, the hard bits, and the completely ridiculous bits in between. Once homeless, now award-winning, he uses storytelling and photography to shine a light on everyday struggles and the quiet strength behind them.

He’s known for spotting meaning in the mess — finding humour where most would find despair, and turning ordinary lives into unforgettable stories. His bestselling The Forget-Me-Not Chronicles showed something funny and deeply human in the pains of family life with dementia.

His latest books are The Accidental Volunteer Society and Last Round at Lottie’s both show the humour in the darker times of life. The Accidental Volunteer Society, is a story of finding your purpose and your community one chaotic adventure at a time. Last Round at Lottie’s is a sharp, funny, and deeply honest look at addiction, recovery, and everything we try to laugh our way through.
