M A Florence

M A Florence has a master's degree in biological science and has worked as a botanist, an adjunct professor, a used bookstore owner, and a consultant. She has two grown children and lives in southwestern Utah with her husband and cat.

Her published works include the following: mystery/suspense books "Red Flag Warning", "Hidden Enemies", "Remember Me", and Newby's Cave." She has also published two illustrated children's books "The Animal Parade" and "Freddie the Flying Sofa"; a short story collection "The Gift and Other Stories"; and "Paralyzed: Finding Love and Happiness After My Spinal Cord Injury", an autobiography she co-wrote with her quadriplegic brother Kevin Smith.

"Remember Me" won the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Award under the Suspense category, "Paralyzed" was a finalist in the 2019 Next Generation Indie Book Award under the biography/autobiography category and "Hidden Enemies" won an honorable mention at the 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Both "Remember Me" and "Paralyzed" won honorable mentions in the 2018 Hollywood Book Festival.
