Direct Hits Education is a successful Atlanta-based education company focused on helping students expand their vocabulary to help them both in classes and to prepare for the SSAT, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Since 2008, Direct Hits has published multiple editions of the Direct Hits Core Vocabulary and Direct Hits Advanced Vocabulary books, to the acclaim of many students, teachers, parents, and tutors. It recently added the Direct Hits Essential Vocabulary to the spiral series.
Paget Hines is a Learning Specialist and the Director of Direct Hits Education. Paget has worked with students with a diverse range of learning profiles. She completed her Orton-Gillingham training in 1998 at The Schenck School in Atlanta. She taught in the middle school and second grade. After leaving Schenck, Paget worked as a learning specialist in Atlanta with middle school girls at the Atlanta Girls School and middle and high school students at The Paideia School.
Paget relocated in 2001 to San Francisco where she taught in the classroom and worked with children individually in her private practice. While in San Francisco, Paget created a SSAT verbal, reading comprehension, and essay curriculum for students with learning differences and test-taking anxiety. Her summer course in San Francisco was chosen to be the pilot site for the forthcoming SSAT online test. She has extensive experience prepping and proctoring the SSAT, PSAT, SAT, and ACT for a wide-range of students.
Paget teaches for Direct Hits with Engineering Track of Project Engages at Georgia Institute of Technology. Project ENGAGES (Engaging New Generations at Georgia Tech through Engineering & Science) is a high school science education program developed at Georgia Tech in partnership with Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy, B.E.S.T Academy, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, Benjamin E. Mays High School, Charles R. Drew Charter High School, and South Atlanta High School, six minority-serving public high schools in the City of Atlanta. The first of these was established by the National Science Foundation STC on the Emergent Behaviors of Integrated Cellular Systems, a center that is part of the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience. The Engineering Track was established by a joint effort of the Georgia Tech Research Institute and the NSF-funded Materials Research Science and Engineering Center.

Paget holds a BA in English from Colgate University. She and her family returned to Atlanta in August 2014.
