Tuomo Kuosa

Dr Tuomo Kuosa was born in Mäntsälä Finland in 5.7.1975. He got his high school / baccalaureat educations both from Goodrich High School, Wisconsin, USA 1993, and from Mänsälän lukio, Finland 1995. He obtained his M.A. of Political Science from University of Tampere, Finland in 2001. The master's thesis was dealing with the extension of globalization in Finland.

Kuosa received his PhD of Economic Sociology from Turku School of Economics, Finland in 2009.

The title of the PhD thesis is: "Towards the Dynamic Paradigm of Futures Research: How to Grasp a Complex Futures Problem with Multiple Phases and Multiple methods". Turku School of Economics' Series A-8:2009. The thesis can be found from http://info.tse.fi/julkaisut/vk/Ae8_2009.pdf

Besides Finland, Kuosa has been working in Singapore, UK and Venezuela. At the moment he works in AlternativeFutures, which merges strategic foresight with ideation, concept design and fast prototyping in order to enhance (public and private) customer's abilities to generate on time new business plans, strategies, services and concepts.

Kuosa is interested in non-linearity in transformation, dynamics of organizational self-renewal, triggering points and path-dependencies in historical development. He is also keen in combining weak signals of change factors into trend knowledge and phenomena summarizations that can be utilized e.g. in a holistic forecasting radar or in broader strategic process. As future is his job, history is his hobby alongside with travelling and many forms of sports. On spear time he acts as a chairman of Finnish bloggers assosiation as well.
