MISSION: I’D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING! Not really, most of the world can already sing better than me! I love to read! I love curling up with a good book and I want to spread that passion to young readers and fan the flame of the already passionate readers.

I still remember some of the wonderful books that captured my imagination as a child and all the titles of all my favorite authors that I read with my children. I let the magic I received from my children’s imagination help me create a story and a fantasy world – a retreat from some of the problems that arise in childhood where the fantasy characters solve similar problems in their own world.

I must confess that the authors of my childhood still inspire me, and when it came to actually writing the book it was their voices I heard, and their vocabulary I modeled. I learned a great vocabulary – encountering new words in the context of wonderful stories as a child - and I want to continue this tradition. I applaud the authors who write books with simple words to engage young readers and not frustrate them, they have opened the door to a wonderful world. I want to entice young readers to travel further! Those readers whose skills are honed enough to read this book can travel to this world on their own. But for the less skilled reader, this book (I Hope!) provides an opportunity for parents (and teachers) to engage with their children and read them through an adventure.
