Jongwoo Jeremy Kim

Engaging in queer and post-colonial studies, I reexamine European modernism and develop new ways of understanding its history and objects. Painted bodies that resist easy definition and the ambiguous desire artists configure fascinate me. "Painted Men in Britain, 1868-1918" is my first book. I am currently working on representations of male friendship at the turn of the twentieth century.
