Marijke is a gifted and widely respected healer who has nearly two decades of experience working with horses and people in private practice. During that time she has enjoyed guiding thousands of horses (and their people) to health and wellness through the use of nutrition, natural medicine, kinesiology, medical intuition, and energy healing.

Marijke holds a B.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and a Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine & Science - she is considered one of the foremost experts in equine natural medicine and therapeutic nutrition, and is known for her expertise in digestive disorders, immunity, metabolic syndrome and behaviour. Her easy style, expert knowledge, and excellent communication skills have put her in high demand as a featured speaker and facilitator. Marijke is also the founder, formulator and CEO of Riva’s Remedies, an equine herbal and homeopathic product line distributed across North America.

She is the author of two books:

Marijke lives on Riva's Ranch with two quarter horse mares, Riva and her daughter Sapphire; a B&W paint gelding, Eclipse (one of the finest warriors ever); a Shetland pony, Kodi, (who taught her everything she knows about laminitis and metabolic syndrome; and a gentle miniature cross donkey, Bo, (who loves to be loved). She rides English, Western and bareback and bitless, and enjoys interacting with her horses through fun-filled horsemanship, intuitive communications and good food. Her horses enjoy teaching her about love, compassion and spiritual journeys.
