Stephanie Carpenter

Stephanie Carpenter (1986-) was born in Quincy, IL, but raised in Lee's Summit, MO, a "small" suburb of Kansas City. By the time she was old enough to hold a crayon, she knew she wanted to either draw or write.

When Stephanie graduated from Lee's Summit North High School in 2005, her dream was to become a high school English teacher - influenced by Ms. Turner from LSN - and a world-renowned author. A few years passed, during which so many changes happened in the US, Missouri, and city's economy that teachers were being laid off and no one could get a job even in the worst schools. Her decision to be a teacher became an afterthought as she joined the track to becoming a registered nurse.

Yet, through all of the turmoil of taking prerequisite after prerequisite and then having to go back and take more prerequisites - since education and nursing are on a completely different career path - Stephanie continued to write. Even after she was accepted into Saint Luke's College of Health Sciences for nursing, going to school full time, working full time, and being a full time wife and mother to an Australian Shepherd did not deter Stephanie for her writing. In fact, some of the obstacles she had to overcome played into the many books she has written.

"The Wars of Destiny" is Stephanie's first published book, but be expecting many more to come.
