Arthur Edgar E. Smith

Arthur Edgar E. Smith was born in Freetown Sierra Leone to strict Sierra Leonean christian Krio parents. He grew up and was schooled in Freetown. From an early age Arthur loved to read and write which passion he has maintained throughout his life so far.

His childhood love for photography has been rekindled by digital photography which he desires to master to enhance his web presence

After earning a first degree and Dip. Ed. at Fourah Bay College he started teaching English and Literature at his alma-mater, the Prince of Wales School. His love for teaching and research thus started growing. He then embarked on doing a Masters in African Literature under the tutelage of Professor Eustace Palmer. He has attended several workshops, conference and seminars on writing, reading, theatre, peace studies, adult education and journalism

After the international publication of his current work, he is undecided as to which of his other works should be published next.

Arthur Smith served for almost a decade as Secretary General of a Sierra Leonean writers asociation. He is curently Senior Lecturer of English at Fourah Bay College where he has been lecturing for the past 12 years.

He serves as editor at Sierra Leone PEN. He himself and his writings have been often featured in local as well as international media such as the B.B.C., WEST AFRICA MAGAZINE and INDEX ON CENSORSHIP.
