John E. Hoover

My name is John E. Hoover. I was born in Orlando Florida, but moved to Texas when I was thirteen. Bought my first horse a year and a half later, and began learning everything I could about the cowboy way of life. I was invited to join a western theatrical group shortly after, and have enjoyed doing that cowboy/action/gunfight type of thing ever since. I started my own Cowboy gunfight group, 'Hoover's Rangers' afterwards, and we have performed for conventions, town festivals and in TV commercials for over 25 years now. In 1996 I went to work with the movie Cavalry on the set of The Rough Riders, and by 1997 I was training horses and wrangling dudes on the historic LH7 Ranch in Bandera Texas.

Several movies and years later I became a father, and after that I worked for the Governor's Division of Emergency Management under Geo. W., and then Rick Perry. A couple of strokes while driving and a car wreck, brain surgery and a month and a half in a coma back in 2005 have slowed me down some, but I'm still here and still enjoy entertaining people in the western sense of that word.

My favorite writers are (in no particular order) Louis L'Amour, Frederick Remington, Mark Twain, Ruth Beebe Hill and Ambrose Bierce. I am an artist as well as an actor, and now I have officially added 'Author' to the number of hats I wear. I hope you enjoy my stories, as I have many more in the works to tell. Thank you, John E. Hoover
