Stefan G. Meyer

Stefan G. Meyer was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1949. He earned a Masters degree in Near Eastern studies from the University of Michigan in 1979 and a Ph.D. in comparative literature from Rutgers University in 1996. He published a scholarly book on modern Arabic literature (The Experimental Arabic Novel, SUNY Press) in 2000, and since then has published several more books including The Karma Seeker, The Life-Sentence, The Empty Cup, A Life of Rebellion, and Card Chemistry: The Secret Science of Relationships, all available on amazon.com.

His father, Alfred G. Meyer, was a well-known political scientist at the University of Michigan and the author of such books as Marxism: The Unity of Theory and Practice, Leninism, Communism, and The Soviet Political System. His grand uncle, Willi Apel, was a famous musicologist at Indiana University, and the author of The Harvard Dictionary of Music, The Notation of Polyphonic Music, and The History of Keyboard Music to 1700. His uncle, Hajo G. Meyer, was a prominent activist in the Netherlands, and the author of The End of Judaism, Tragisches Schicksal (Tragic Fate), and Judentum, Zionismus, Antisemitismus, und Antizionismus (Judaism, Zionism, Anti-Semitism, and Anti-Zionism). His maternal grandfather, Hans Apel, was chairman of the Economics Department at the University of Bridgeport, and the author of a number of economic studies on topics such as inflated recession and the marginal cost curve.
