A native New Yorker, Lenore was a High School Art Major, graduated the Cooper Union Art School and then completed a BA in Fine Arts at the University of California, Berkeley. After moving to Israel and raising a family, she continued to paint in oils and watercolors, and began to teach art. In 1981 she received an M.A. in Expressive Therapy from Lesley College Boston, and began work as an art therapist. A few years later she added Jungian Sandplay to her clinical work. After years of teaching art therapy, she founded an art therapy training program in the Kibbutzim College of Education, School of Advanced Studies, Tel Aviv, in 1991, and in 2003 founded a Jungian Sandplay Training Program there. In addition to teaching and supervising she has written many articles about art therapy and sandplay, and two books about sandplay. In her art she has sculpted in clay for the past seven years. She is the Israeli representative for ISTA (Israeli Sandplay Therapy Association) to ISST, the International Society for Sandplay Therapy.In this role she has enjoyed meeting and working with Board Members of many other National Sandplay Societies around the world, and has taught together with them at International Training Weeks in Bulgaria (2010) and Cracow (2012)for advanced international sandplay students. She loves oceans, art and sandplay, and her children and grandchildren.
