Eric D. Feigelson

Eric Feigelson is a Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics at Penn State where he is also Associate Director of the Center for Astrostatistics. His astronomical research concentrates on X-ray astronomy and its insights into star and planet formation. But for >25 years, he has collaborated with statisticians on improving the methodology for astronomical data analysis and astrophysical inferences. He and Penn State statistician G. Jogesh Babu run a Summer School in Statistics for Astronomy, and they have recently authored the volume "Modern Statistical Methods for Astronomy with R Applications" published by Cambridge University Press.
