I was born and raised in the depression era. I spent precious little time with my mother, my older brother Frank and grandparents. Soon after my birth mother was stricken with tuberculosis and within a few years succumbed from its ravishes. My father left our family before my birth. Consequently I was not raised in the traditional manner. However, I kept my head above the muddy waters.
