Jane C. Gates

Jane Gates fell in love with gardening and drawing about the same time she learned to walk. She wrote her first 'book' at the age of 7. Jane's been writing, drawing and gardening ever since. She is an award-winning landscape designer, a prolific garden columnist, a writer of stories, training programs and song lyrics and has shown her art in galleries all over the world. Her belief is that learning keeps us alive and being alive is a gift to be shared. "Like all living things in nature," she says, "each person forms a unique and vital stitch in the fabric of life -- connecting us to each other to form an ever-expanding work of art. Nature is the penultimate artist; we can continually learn from her."
