My decision to pour my thoughts onto paper for the public was not my first thought in life, though I do have to admit I am relishing in the idea now. I came to this after being disappointed in the number of books I picked up to read, but could not force myself to complete. I was looking for a fast paced read with lovable and entertaining characters that would make my heart throb, but was putting books down because I did not enjoy the writing style or the ramblings of topics I found mundane and not relevant to the story at hand. So here I am, having completed my first work and starting the sequel.
Currently I am home raising the joys of my life, twin toddler girls, on our farm in Texas. Prior to this, I was registered as a clinical laboratory scientist (NCA/ASCP CM) with a specialty in microbiology and mycology. I hold a B.S. in microbiology and chemistry and another B.S. in clinical laboratory science. Though I must admit, I love to dig into all the sciences, especially those relating to archaeology and physical anthropology. These educational attributes have contributed to my ability to blend real world facts into a fictional theme, which allows the reader to travel through an accurate reconstruction as though they were truly experiencing the events.
I have utilized my knowledge to compile a book with accurate foundations that not only entertains, but also educates the reader with facts. If the reader chooses to do so, they could further their reading experience by diving into the topics at hand. However, the work is not so overwhelming that it cannot be read as a quick "on the surface" story.
Therefore, I feel as though I have created a book for everyone. It is a work for those who wish for a fast pace simple read, or those who wish to explore the facts more in depth. In doing so, I have created a book that I do not wish to shelf once reaching page 5. I hope you and future readers will feel the same.

She utilizes her knowledge of science, archaeology, and physical anthropology to make the foundations of the works accurate. With actual facts, the novels not only entertain, but educate the reader. Her novels have something to offer each individual as a fast paced, action packed excursion. The heart will throb not only for the adventure, but for the transforming personal relations through the novel. Prior to focusing on writing, AMILYN GEIST was a clinical laboratory scientist (ASCPCM), with a B.S. in both Microbiology and Clinical Laboratory Science. She currently lives on a farm in Texas with her husband and twin girls.

DESCENT OF THE JAGUAR is a commercial thriller of approximately 81,000 words. The reader joins the team on a journey from the modern skyline of Washington, D.C., to antiquated rituals deep within the caves of South America. Written under the pen name of Amilyn Geist, I have included my knowledge of science, archaeology, and physical anthropology to make the foundations of the work accurate. This has provided a precise work of fiction with a combined feel of archaeological adventure and crime investigation. The first in a planned series, I believe DESCENT OF THE JAGUAR has something to offer every reader as a fast paced, action packed read. The novel is clean in the fact that it is not overloaded with inappropriate language, sexual content, or grotesque descriptions of violence. While not recommended for children, it could be considered appropriate for mature teens to adults.
