I have been a professional entertainer for over 50 years, beginning as a DJ, children's entertainer before branching out into acting, agent and eventually combining my interest in entertainment and local history by writing books that combines both of these.
The first thing I published was a Country Music Quiz & Trivia book, followed by my autobiography - "If It Wasn't For Bad Luck". These we then followed by "Oh Yes It Is" the story of Welshpool Pantomime Society from 1963 - 1972; "Treading The Boards with St Mary's Players & St Mary's Singers" telling the stories of 2 Welshpool amateur dramatic groups based at the Parish Church. My last book - "Entertaining Mid Wales & Beyond"chronicles the many and varied entertainers that have emerged from or work out of Mid Wales including soap stars, classical singers & musicians, rock bands, TV presenters and much more. Currently I am researching a number of other book projects which will be detailed on here in due course.
For a number of years I also published my own music magazines - Country Music Cymru which looked at the country music & line dancing scene in Wales; and "Beats Working" a 60s music lovers magazine keeping everyone up to date on the 60s music revival scene. I have also written sleeve notes for Tape & CD albums and forewords for other authors books.
Although based in Mid Wales I have worked in holiday centres, theatres, civic halls in fact most types of venue across the country as well as filming extra and small walk on parts for programmes such as Casualty, The Locksmith, Brum, Dangerfield, and the Hugh Grant Film "An Englishman Who Went Up A Hill".
I under take speaking engagements on a number of topics relating to my books or local history to Women Institutes, Over 50 Clubs etc.
Apart from show-business my other great passion is World War 2 and helping to preserve the memory of what many many and women went through in the armed services and on the front line.
