I am a socio-cultural anthropologist and an assistant professor of anthropology and peace studies at the University of Notre Dame. I have been conducting research in Africa since 1996, and I have worked previously in Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland. I have been working in Sierra Leone since 2003. In addition to this book, I have articles in many anthropology and African Studies journals on topics ranging from rumor and ex-combatant reintegration to NGO work and memory. E-mail me at cbolten@nd.edu if you would like copies of any of these.
