Enric Berry

Rick Berry began his training at the Seibukan Shorin-Ryu Karate school in Norwood, Pennsylvania in 1966. 8 months later, in 1967 he switched to the Korean striking art, Ji Do Kwan under Steve McKnight. The late Master C. K. Kim headed the Ji Do Kwan system in the United States. He was promoted to 1st dan in 1969 and 2nd dan in 1973. In 1983, he began studying Aikido in Philadelphia, promoting to 1st dan in 1990. He currently holds the rank of 6th dan in Kokikai Aikido. In April, 1998, after several years of studying his skills and teaching him many new concepts, Doctor Moses Powell inducted him into the Sanuces Ryu Ju Jutsu System with the rank of 7th dan.

Berry has taught Ji Do Kwan seminars in Huntsville, AL and Aikido seminars in San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA. He once taught a life lesson while helping a man (a future student) restore his billiards game. He is a teacher of teachers and he continually lives his life-lessons.

He is the founder of the Quiet Storm Karate System.

* 1977: Rick Berry, S. L. Martin and Pat Burns founded "The United Martial Arts Referees Association."

* 1985: Founded "Aikido Kokikai Swarthmore."

* 1991: Founded "Aikido Kokikai Delaware."

In 2001, Doctor Moses Powell inducted him into the New York State Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

In 2004 Professor Rick Berry published his first book, "Stepping Off the Mat," through The Infinity Publishing Company.

In 2011 Professor Berry self-published "Stepping Off the Mat, 2nd Edition" though Amazon online publishing.
