Alex Burton holds an Airline Transport Licence endorsed for land and sea, a Class 1 Flight Instructor Rating, and Transport Canada authority as a Pilot Examiner. He has been involved in teaching, managing, and designing educational programs for more than 35 years and has served as Chief Flight Instructor for three Flight Training Units and Chief Pilot for two air charter operations in Canada. He is currently serving as Base Manager for the Selair Pilots Association’s satellite training base, in cooperation with the Selkirk College Aviation program, located at the Abbotsford International Airport (CYXX), in Abbotsford, British Columbia. He has been a regular contributor of articles on various aviation topics to national aviation publications both in Canada and in the United States.
