I think the following pretty much sums up who I am. It was written as part of my final Thesis in earning my Masters in Fine Arts - Creative Writing - Fiction.

"People read for a variety of reasons -- entertainment, information, validation. Validation is the ring-of-truth that each of us has merit. A quality of worthiness that shows even when we have been undeserving, we still qualify for a chance to have a good life. The writer in me wants to be someone who can make readers believe that, to catch their breath at the beauty of climbing out of bad times and having another chance at life. I want my readers to yearn not necessarily for more and more of my books to read, but books of mine to read that will make them feel human. To simply feel. Pain. Anger. Shame. Joy. Happiness. And, a Harvest of Hope."
